Conventional steel projects rely heavily on field welding for joint connections. This practice drastically extends construction timelines, while weld quality is highly vulnerable to weather, site conditions and variable on-site working environments.
Guided by DfMA principles, we use a proven hybrid design approach: factory pre-fabricated welding paired with high-strength bolted connections. While fully retaining required structural performance, we shift the vast majority of welding work to controlled factory environments, leaving only component alignment and bolt tightening for field crews.

2.1 Material Performance Equivalency & Validation

We avoid generic strength reduction approximations. Instead, we run granular performance benchmarking based on yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, Charpy impact toughness, elongation, and thickness-dependent property effects to build precise equivalency mapping between Chinese domestic steel grades and international specifications.

For Q355B/C/D steel grades, we define direct equivalency against European EN 10025 grades (S355JR/J0/J2) or U.S. ASTM specifications (A572 Gr.50 / A992). We carry out rigorous Charpy impact energy checks to meet low-temperature fracture toughness requirements under EN 1993-1-10, eliminating compliance risks during material procurement.
